Each year, our Consultation gathering gives an opportunity for prayer for the persecuted church. It gives us the privilege of joining together with more churches in different countries and denominations to pray and enjoy fellowship and discussions. What would be of the utmost importance for the future of the church is the unity of its leaders and collaboration in building the future church everywhere. We provide a suitable time and place for encouraging and facilitating ongoing fellowship and collaboration among Christian leaders.
SMRC Access ministry
The concept of Access Ministry plays a crucial role in our discipleship training strategy. After two years of online and in-person training, we recognised the need for a more integrated approach that emphasises engaging more deeply with local communities and integrating discipleship training into everyday life.
Access Ministry focuses on providing opportunities for individuals to share their faith within their own spheres of influence and build a network of relationships within their communities. This approach, particularly relevant in the context of the Iranian church which faces both rapid growth and significant persecution, facilitates authentic relationships, creates natural opportunities for gospel sharing, and establishes trust and credibility within the community.
This showcases examples of SMRC's Access Ministry in the MENA region, demonstrating the core principles and strategies employed to equip and empower disciples and leaders:
Partner with a business to provide materials, sports clothing, and support for a small business venture within the centre for some leaders.
We've partnered with two experienced sports mentors (Taekwondo, bodybuilding) who lead large communities of 10-15-year-olds in Tehran and Shiraz.
As SMRC expanded internationally, we established a Charity activity, a subsidiary committed to providing comprehensive IT skills training to youth facing barriers, utilizing our team's expertise in consulting, project management, and development to foster their growth and success. We empower youth and individuals with limited skills to build bright futures.
We successfully launched a dried fruit packaging project, bringing a variety of products to market. This initiative directly resulted in employment opportunities for facilitators and fostered collaborative relationships with small businesses. This initiative also established valuable connections in the community.
